Can't play WMV on x51v

I have some Microsoft Webcasts that I'd like to watch but I can't get them to play on the x51v. Well, the audio plays but no video. Having scanned a few threads I think that perhaps the problem is that the video resolution is likely greater than 640*480 (or maybe it has to be 320*240?).

The video seems to be 200kbps, 24 bit, and video 2 from the PC desktop properties. WMP on the x51v shows that the video codec is "WM Video 9 screen".

Is there some way to get these videos to play?

I had the same problem on my x30m. The WMVs are encoded with WMP 9 and I'm running WMP 10 after updating the BIOS to A05.

Is there a way to re-encoded the video to WMV 10?

I have been trying to figure out how to solve this problem too. I can get the audio, but no video no matter what player I try. It seems that the WM 9 Codec is not included with WM 10.

The answer is to re-encode the video. I found a few converter http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html that is free :approve: and will convert the video to a format you can play. Now my only problem is to find the "perfect" setting to compress the file download size down without lossing a lot of quality. Because the conversion can greatly increase the size of the original file.

Hope that helps.
