WM10 will not play the file formats you listed. There's no plugins, no power toy... nothing you can do. TCPMP can and will play these files.

Great reply. I use TCMP for my movies after using PocketDivXEncoder 0.3.6 to get them to about 250mg and 320 x 240.

why 320 x 240 for a x51v and not 640x480?

Originally I had a 1gb cf card. The first movie I did at 640 x 480 was over the 1gb size limit of the card. I redid the same movie at 320 x 240 and watched both and saw to my eys (IMHO) no difference. So I have just continued with that resolution even though I have a 8gb micro drive.

You must be setting it to a very high bitrate. For example I recently ripped 'Corpse Bride' and set the screen ratio to 512x288, audio bitrate 80kbps, Video codec: Xvid and Audio codec: MP3. The resulting size was 460Mb.

I use 512 as a compromise for the 2 PDAs I have (iPaq 2210 320x240 and Axim X51v 640x480).

I'm very suprised that that setting the sreen ration to 640x480 would go over 1Gb.

I used to use 320x240 for my x5 which has a qvga screen and my videos looked good on my pda but when I watched them on my laptop they looked good only if I kept the screen size small . So I started using 352x288 and I can go almost fullscreen now on my laptop before the picture starts looking blocky. Also using tcpmp fit to screen mode my qvga x5 can play these videos just fine to without having to re-encode them to qvga so on my ax its like high definition for its screensize. The quality is awesome its about 180Mb/30 mins though at 15fps and stereo sound. I prefer maximum quality over filesize since I have a 4 gig cf and a 1 gig cf for movies and music.

What I do is covert my movie over to Windows Media Video, looks good on a PDA screen. I just ripped the Longest Yard DVD, converted it from MPEG to WMV and it only takes up 187 MB on my
1GB SD card. I can send you the programs I use, they're relatively small. Let me know and I'll email them to you. :)

anyone know how to get tcpmp to play Mpeg2s? Apparently it isn't supported, and I can't get pocket divx to play it either. :-(
