Add mp3 play to streaming music (playing .mp3's, .wmv's and .ogg's right now), and you pretty much have my 40-hour work week. Then there's watching My Name is Earl from wherever in the house, surfing Aximsite, etc.
I think its the best MP3 player that u can get it does everything and the prices now for the x50 series are the same price as ipods literally. it does everything. as for music hell yea it rocks i use TCMP and use the D pad to change tracks and volume and i turn the screen off to save power. also u can add more memory to it if u want but i honestly think 512 is enough because i mostly listen to it when im goin to school communting and the gym. I say for all of u that i have ipods BUY A AXIM U WONT REGRET IT. i guess later in the future ill probably get more mem as they get cheaper. its literally a mans best friend lol
real, TCPMP, GSPlayer
but somehow TCPMP always use fade-in on first couple of seconds of track (GS can disable that)
however, TCPMP handles streaming is better than GS
there're 2 things ipod can never do as axim
1. a2dp support
2. live streaming audio support
exactly. i mean come on who the hell is going to listen to all of their music in one day and second if the hard drive on the ipod goes and u literally dumped all of ur cd's then ur really screwed. all im saying is that its just better. as i mentioned for the same amount of money that somebody would spend on a ipod just spend it on a axim which can do multiple things and ull never be sorry because its perfect for any lifestyle
i mean u get the jsut of wat i mean. just plain english nothing in this world will convince of ever buying a ipod because im the type of person that wants to multi task listen to music write a report and surf the net and etc

That's just not true.
The amount of songs that a person can listen to in one day is obviously limited by the amount of time that they spend listening to music. So if someone has say only 40 songs can they listen to them all in one day? Sure they can. They can listen to them on the Axim too of course. But the argument that nobody would listen to all their music in one day is worthless.
Secondly - if the iPod HDD dies, you replace it and plug in the new one. It's really that simple. It will sync with iTunes and you're back in business. Just plug it in. Don't have to mess around re-copying files etc. It's significantly easier than recovering from a memory card failure.
They are different things. It's pretty narrow minded to say that one is better than the other since it really depends how you want to use them.
what would happen if you wanted to carry 200 songs with you (not a huge amount) but you wanted them in lossless format? Guess the Axim's not perfect in every situation after all.

I have about 280 songs wich is more than I listen in a week so I listen to the same song about once every 8 working days. That's good enough for me :approve:

I don't use the Axim directly as an MP3 player much because I'm a homebody. :) But I do use it as a remote control for the Squeezebox in my bedroom, and out at my pool I use it with NetRemote as a remote control for J River Media Center on my PC where I have a wireless outdoor speaker plugged into the rear sound card output.
I've loaded some of my favorite MP3s on it for the times when I travel because I do like to fall asleep to music.
I spent much of my day working in a closed room, prepping PCs and whatnot for installation.
Fire up the Ax with nearly 600 tunes in it. I use MortPlayer with today screen plugin then I immediately blank the screen to preserve battery life. After an 8 hour day I still have over 40% battery life (I have a Mugen 2000 mAh). Rock on.
I tried using XScalarCPU but it actually drained the battery quicker (this can happen).
Having the earbuds in actually stopped some people from asking stupid time-waster questions and let me be more productive.
