Not sure why I would use anything else JUST to play mp3s?

I jog with my axim listening to mp3s and then I make entries in my runner's log when I'm finished.

hi, i spend a few hours listening to mp3s. x50v+x50mix+mortplayer, but i use it alot for making notes to myself, appointments and such. x50v is a great mp3 player plus it can do more than just that.

I have only just begun to think in those terms, I was hot to get an iPod, but with enough SD / CF memory, i figure, why not use the Axim. I am starting to look into bluetooth headphones. I really hate the wires, ya know.

Yup. My iPod kicked the bucket a day or two after my Axim arrived. I think it died of jealousy. Once I added an 8 gig CF microdrive and mortplayer to my axim, I haven't missed the iPod one bit.

GSPlayer and my... 1GB SD Card. I need more memory, and that's 5 days a week for you (or any time traveling). I found MortPlayer a pain to handle inside my coat pocket (I have both installed)

I've been using orb and tcpmp to stream my mp3s from home over my cell phone's BT. I'm planning on getting a 2 or 4 GB CF card for MP3's and movies, but this works fine for now.

I go to the gym or jog everyday and my axim is with me. I don't coddle it at all. I'm sure it will die a shattering and unsightly death. But it will die used and loved.

cool, thx for the replies, but dont u find skipping track a problem or when u want to pause since u need to open your cover(if u have one) and then take the styles then press whatever u want compared to using a 'mp3' player where u just flick the switch (or press the button) and hey presto its done

I don't use it for MP3 due to battery life. My mobile phone (SLVR L7) is a better source for MP3's then the Axim as you would get 8 hours on the phone and 2.? on the Axim.

My GB CF Card sits empty for that reason on the Axim.

Stylus? Heck with that, I just use my handy index finger!

Try turning the screen off, and skipping tracks with the D-pad. Your battery should last all day.

Of course, when you want a particular song, flipping the screen on for a few seconds won't drain the battery that much.
