Skipping while playing movies
I have a Dell axim x5 running WM2002. I am trying to watch movies on it but am getting a couple of problems. After converting a movie I downloaded some time ago to 240x320 size in .wmv format using WinAvi I tried watching it using WM player(it was on an SD card). The movie skipped and the sound was terrible... Is it a problem with my converting or something else?
Thanks in advance. | |||||

It could be that the movie is still too big for the pda to handle...what's the length and the size?

It's not advised to skip while watching a movie. Try to walk evenly. Better yet, remain seated; we don't need anymore distracted walkers out there.

Your bit rate may be too high. The ppc can only handle certain bitrates. Also, try using a program called TCPMP....It will definately work better than windows media player.

The length of the movie is about 22 min. Ive been experimenting some more and ran into even more problems... I tried using avi format and opening the file in first pict pocket and then TCPMP. With pictPocket I got the message: "not enough memory or file storage is not available to complete this operation" and it TCPMP nothing happened... Id be really thankful could tell me what prog they use fro converting with which settings and what ppc media player they use...

Well, 22 minutes isn't too bad for a 100 meg file. What software are you using to encode the video?
