Ripping DVD's to Axim X51V

I thought I would venture out and try to rip a DVD to my Axim. I followed the steps found in this helpful link;

http://www.aximsite.com/articles/link.php?id=215

Being new to this....using "Shrink DVD" and "PocketDiviXEncoder" it was pretty straight forward converting to an AVI file. I even tested it on my PC and it worked like a charm.

The trouble is, once I copied it over to my Axim (onto the SD card) I couldn't get it to play on the Windows Media Player 10 Mobile. The message says "the file format is invalid".

Is there a way to get the Media Player to recognize an avi file or should I be using a different player......or have I just missed something altogether.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think the common answer you'll receive will be.... TCPMP !!
For me it's the best player I've come accross, and it plays a lot of formats (both video and audio).
I don't remember the link to download the player, but if you "google" it you'll find the TCPMP page in the first links.
Install it and enjoy your movies

edit: I just found the link on another post: http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download

WMP 10 for the ppc sucks!!!!!!!!!!! I would highly reccomend TCPMP, it is the #1 player for audio and video.
