How to map buttons

I am trying to map buttons and everytime I press the button to try assign it the calender shows up, home, contacts, etc. How do I get around this?

what program are you using? most programs don't require you to press the button to map it. you should just be able to change the action that a certain button will do.

With TCPMP click on Options > Settings > Select Page > Hot Keys then clear if you want to change the existing button and/or assign to map a new one.

WMP10 for Windows Mobile

With WMP10 for Windows Mobile you're pretty much stuck with just the d-pad for button mapping options. Unless your device has a phone dialing pad.

Sounds like something that can happen in MortPlayer...

look at the top of the screen and be sure to select 'Use Application Buttons' before you try to map it. Otherwise, you will see the behavior you are talking about.
