Start with TCPMP. Plays pretty much anything.

Do a quick search for music players and video players and several excellent choices will emerge.

I use mortplayer for mp3s and other music. I use TCPMP aka Betaplayer aka CORE for movies. There are various codecs for tcpmp which handle most file formats.

I use GS Player for music and Tcpmp for movies. Awesome! Don't forget x50mix. Do a search on the site for links.
