I have a electure which has both audio
and video.

I m not interested in video. Can I either extract
audio only or strip the original wmv file of video?
This will make the file very compact & more suitable
for Axim

Have you tried the tools page of DVD Help? There is a small utility for converting between different video formats. (...can't recall the name...) Once in .avi format, Virtualdub can extract the audio.
