Q's on audio players

I'm trying to find the perfect .mp3 player for me. I've tried out WMP, Mort, and TCPMP.

The thing I need the most is large buttons and landscape mode. Second is speed.

So, I've ditched the idea of using Windows Media.
Mort is nice with the skins but a bit slow on the track changes.
TCPMP is nice and fast but there's no way I'd be able to tap those buttons while driving.
I've tossed around the idea of GSPlayer but it doesn't look any better than TCPMP in the button department.

Basically, what it comes down to, is that I'd like to find skins for TCPMP. Any ideas on where I might find this if they're available?

Or any other suggestions?

In the mean time, I'll stick with Mort.

Thanks.

I use Conduits Pocket Player, you could give that a try. Also TCPMP is not skinable, so there is no skins for it. Why dont you just map the play functions to the d-pad and face buttons.

why don't you map the buttons to the hardware buttons?

there are several skins I think for GSPlayer with bigger buttons i think. Otherwise you might need to look at a non-free player. Have a look at Handago or PocketGear.

PocketPlayer and PocketMusic both sound nice and have big button skins available. Both are also a little resource heavy, but you may be able to accomplish "faster" functionality by fooling around with some of the settings and disabling features you don't need.

I haven't ruled out paying for the perfect player but I'd obviously like to avoid it.

Even with the hard buttons mapped, I'd still like to have big ones on screen. They're just easier to use and more visible out of the corner of my eye. That, and I let my co-pilot play DJ as well so it would just be easier to have familiar icons on screen.

I'll look a little harder for GSPlayer skins and start trying out all the demos of the commercial apps. Still open to suggestions though.

The gaps between tracks should be shorter with the current beta of MortPlayer (V3.31b24).
