Anyone know of a program that will play streaming realplayer video thats embedded in websites. I know that this isn't very likely but the BBC has some really good streaming video links. Also i've heard that they're planning on streaming their whole schedule over the internet using realplayer. Watching some BBC stuff on demand while out and about seems pretty cool to me.
Cheers
Dave
PS : I know battery life will be less than stellar using my X51v for this but, you can't have everything.
Realplayer has a mobile version, but its outdated. Its supposed to work with streaming, but trust me it doesnt. It can play saved files, but has no vga or landscape support. Basically it sux. But if you still want to try it out, get it here: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=118180

Hmmmm, i've just tried both those browsers (Minimo ver 0.013 and Netfront v3.3) and couldn't get streaming content from either of them. I tried a notebook with a wireless in the same location and it worked fine so it's not the connection or the wi-fi signal. This may sound like a stupid question but does the realplayer mentioned above have to be installed for this to work. I glanced through the documentation and the netfront site suggests that it supports the realplay (helix) codec so i assume that a separate realplayer install wasn't necessary. Anyone have any ideas where i've messed up?
On a slightly different note i didn't like the way either of those 2 browsers dealt with the formatting of web pages, although i admit i didn't play with the settings too much. I currently use opera and love the smart rendering. Problem is that theres no flash or shockwave and i can't get the streaming realplayer stuff working with it.
I've had some success streaming media files from the internet using betaplayer (now named TCPMP). When I'm online I fire up betaplayer and type the web page address into the 'open file' window. You then get a list of the files on the site, and you can tap on the files you want to play. The problem with this is that betaplayer ain't no browser and it can be hellish trying to navigate to the pages of interest (i.e. those that contain the links to the media files). I would be great if there were some way to integrate TCPMP into a browser, such that you could browse normally, but when you tap a link for a media file it brings up TCPMP, which in turn plays the file.
