*wmv file plays video not audio

electure which plays perfectly fine on my regular XP
plays only the video. Is there a way I can hear the
audio. The audio is important to me not the video.

I've found a couple of wmv-avi converter guides at DVD Help.

First link

Second link

After you have the file in .avi format, Virtualdub can strip out the audio. I'm sure there are other programs to accomplish this, but this is one that I know of that should work for you.

How big is this lecture?

Umm... If you used wm encoder or downloaded it somewhere, Might have encoded it so the video codec is wmp 7.1 and the audio codec is 9.0... The axim can't play wmp 9.0 audio until the new Pocket PC 2003 OS comes out......

interesting...

I have encoded quite a few wma files using 9.0 and they all play fine on the Ax.

For video, the matrix trailer I downloaded a while back from a thread on this site is encoded using wma 9. It sounds alright to me as well.
