new encoder & player ... freeware

newest freeware ... :)

SOMPY MovieEncoder version 1.0.0314 ... :approve:
http://www.sompy.com/sw.html

and also a player as well ....

SOMPY Media Player version 1.0.0328
http://www.sompy.com/smplayer.html

( although I'd recommend only the most versatile one ... TCPMP instead )

Thanks for the links, Kazkin! I already use DVD Catalyst, but it was nice to see some of SOMPY's upcoming apps as well! :approve: Definitely a page worth bookmarking!

Sounds like the windows desktop software is great. The pocket pc software is just like tcpmp, with a few less formats.

After spending some time working (or trying to work) with this software I've decided to stick to FairUse. It's much more flexible. :approve:

I get Mencoder crashes while trying to encode video with this, while Lathe has no issues. I'm sticking with Lathe for the time being... especially since I can tell it to put the files on somewhere other than my C:\ drive.
