MPEG4 anyone?

I'm trying to play .mp4 and/or h.264 files and I'm having limited success. I like to download DL.TV, but am forced to d/l either the WMV version that won't sync audio/video full screen in WM10 or the DIVX/AVI file that is ~300MB each. The more common .MOV/MP4/H.264 formats are a more palatable 180MB each. TCPMP can play them with the appropriate plugin, but either very choppy or with no sound. I know there was a AVC plugin that worked and was withdrawn, but I've been unable to secure a copy. I tried the Nero beta, but that appears to be worthless at this point. I'm eagerly awaiting the upcoming Coreplayer/betaplayer but would like a workable solution that doesn't fill up my 2GB SD card so quickly now. Anyone?

I'm a die hard fan of TCPMP myself .... flawless no matter what I throw at it ... did you tried to tinker around with the settings to make it play better ???

Thanks! unfortunately, swompy is not VGA aware or WM5 certified. It might work if I feel like watching quarter screen size black and white video though. :)

I'm a fan of TCPMP too, but until they add back a decent MPEG4 CODEC it's not the "universal" player it used to be. :(

I use sompy, you just have to tell it to play fullscreen and it will. The controls are still in the top left quarter of the screen. It works great other than that.

Well, Swompy didn't work for me, sound with corrupted video. In all my searching I kept using things like TCPMP+mp4 or WM5+MPEG4. If I had just Googled TCPMP+AAC I would have never needed to start this thread! [homer]DOH[/homer]

I believe TCPMP will have an AVC plugin that will help the situation. It is supposed to be released today at www.coreavc.com

That version is only for the desktop. PPC users will have to wait for http://www.coreplayer.com
