DVDs on PPC

hey everyone...

I am going on a trip over my break and i want to put a DVD or two on my ppc because i heard that you can do that. I knw there is a page on this site about how to do that but the program they use u have to pay money for. I was wondering if anyone knows of all free programs that are easy to use and if u can send me something on to how to do it as well... thank you in advance

Take a look at Fairuse, which is free and easy to use. There's a tutorial here:

Yep FairUse is the way to go - not the fastest but definitely the best and play them through TCPMP - also free

Aximsite eBook gives you all the tutorials and reviews you need. I also vote for Fairuse and TCPMP.

I just joined this ppc thing recently, prior I had a T5 pda for about 1 week which I sold to buy an X30.

Anyways on the T5 I used picket divx encoder to transform the avi/divx file I had to a small enough palm format and used TCPMP to play the file. It worked perfect and your control over the software to decide the size of the file is good.

Example I took "Into the Blue" in a divx file format from 1.1gb size down to a 200mb file and the quality/audio were excellent.

This software is also available in ppc form and it is free as well. I have heard about fairuse and will give that a try. I found pocket divx encoder pretty fast encoding the file above in 25 minutes or under on my sons S754 A64 3100+ with onboard video and 1GB ram

I like pocket divx encoder for free software, much faster and equally pleasing results as fairuse. I also own DVD catylyst and have ordered pqDVD, once it arrives i will compare and contrast the popular ones to find out which really is the fastest.
