Last night I download a copy of the first "FireFly" episode from Kazaa. I ran it through the virtual dub program, did the first pass, then the second and Holy cow! My Divx dreams had come true. After I download the 70M, 45 min program onto my axim, I pushed the brightness up and the video played PERFECT! I love this Axim! The guide from pocketmatrix (http://www.pocketmatrix.com/guides/dvd2divx/) does work! And I used Divx5 codec!

Was 70 Mb the final file size after processing?

I compressed a 600+ vid of an MTV Unplugged episode down to 90+ megs and the quality was top notch, freakin amazing. I also followed the guide on pocketmatrix.com, 'cept I went ahead with DivX 5.02 also. They should get that guide up to date regarding PocketMVP and DivX 5.02!!

yeah useing that guide you can get a 1hour 40 minute DVD movie to ~160MB, that is with very nice sound and good qual video

Sigh - Firefly. Proof that network idiots and Nielson viewers know crap about good television.

Finally a good show comes on the air and it doesn't even get a full season!! So unfair. Someone should be shot!

And from what I've heard, everyone has turned down taking the show, even UPN. ouch.

I wasn't so lucky... I tried the pocketmatrix directions on The Martix movie which was in .avi to begin with and it said it had a problem with the source file, even though I was able to watch the preview. So, I assume this was a large .avi of Firefly and you "recompressed" it??

Dude I boycotted Firefly from the day it came out, once punk ass FOX started cancelign its best adn most popular shows fo rno reason, liek Titus and Dark Angel, I decided I'd never support a series that the created agin, except the simpsons of course.

Tell me about it. But whats even worse is that Sci-Fi channel is not doing the last season of "Farscape"....

Actually, it was a large MPEG flile that VirtualDub converted, then compressed, while upping the brightness, and rotating 90 degrees to the left to make is full screen on my Axim. I love my new found talent!!!

BUT... you know the "last season" (assuming some other network doesn't pick it up) started like 2 weeks ago, right? If not, jump on scifi channel at 8pm EST tonight! Only 9 episodes left!

I agree... I loved Titus! Brilliant writing, funny show. Same goes for a lot of other stuff they've had. But I still loved Firefly - such a great show with such amazing potential! Then it gets stuck on Friday's at 8pm! But no - John Doe, that crappy piece of... um... crap, stays on! I don't get it. Stupid Fox, and stupid Nielson people that wouldn't know good TV if it ran up and steamrolled them...

You never know, maybe it'll be made available on DVD?

Of course, I never did end up actually seeing Farscape - heard it was really good, but in Canukville, we don't get the Sci-Fi channel, just the crappy Canadian version, whatever it is. Can't respect a show that doesn't even have MST3k!
