it is big yes, but it's the best interface I have found thus far for managing podcasts. it may not be the best rss reader, but it's the best I've found for podcasts so far..

EDIT
although yes I admit it can be slow at times when updating feeds...

To improve refresh time, have you tried to un-check pre-packaged channels you don’t want to subscribe to in the "config menu " Nomad’s Channel Tab: this way heavy data unwanted channels won’t be refreshed anymore.

There are more than 200MB of content with the full initial channel package.
