I use etivo (http://www.prish.com/etivo/) to move programs from my tivo, then convert them to Xvid. The Divx/Xvid addin for etivo uses mencoder since it can use the command line to send options for encoding. I am using Xvid and have some options set that provide decent quality. I would like to know if anyone else uses mencoder and what encoding command line options they use to get the best quality with the smallest size. I am trying to keep each one hour show to about 400MB.
