Syncing large WMA files

Anyone else notice this?

When I try to sync a large WMA file to the Axim (it's an hour-long concert), Windows Media Player gets about 60% done or so -- but then the ActiveSync connection is lost. Any ideas?

ActiveSync does a poor job at syncing large files. Also, if you're truly syncing and not just copying over via Explore, you will run out of memory in no time since it will sync to internal memory. Use a card reader instead. It will save you lots of time and stress. :)

I was using the "sync" feature in the desktop version of Windows Media Player. The desktop WMP has a nice feature that can directly recognize the storage card of the Axim and does a wonderful job syncing most files. Works with the Axim like iTunes works with an iPod.

It's just that it chokes on larger files.

Oh well.

Great suggestion for a workaround. I'll get a memory card reader.

Oh, I didn't know you were referring to WMP. A card reader should work if you do not need to transfer licencing info.
