RealPlayer® for Mobile Devices won't install on x51 - why?
I try to install "RealPlayer® for Mobile Devices" http://www.real.com/realmobile/downl...PC%2520Devices and during install it says I must have Active Sync 3.1 or later. I have version 4.0.0 and never had a problem installing other programs before.
BTW is there any other player that can play Real Media files? Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem. I try whatever I knew to fix it. It never did. So I just gave up.

since 4.0 has alot of changes, it may not be recogonized.. try installing 3.8.. I have had issues with stuff installing on 4.0, but never on 3.8.

I had this problem. The solution was that I needed Activesync to be running in the background when I installed Realplayer.
While Activesync was synching with my laptop the Realplayer software recognised that my version of Activesync was new enough (I had 4.1). Cheers Philhellene

Okay, I tried everything suggested above to no avail. I also tried installing within my Axim and got a message that the application Real Player is not a pocket pc application. any suggestions?
What about a different media player that can play Real Media or convert saved Real Media files to be playable in WMP?

What message did you get when installing the cab file as suggested by Gigi? Installing the cab file directly bypass the ActiveSync and should have worked. At least for me.
As for converting the file, I tried the Super Media Converter (free) and it worked fine. See http://www.aximsite.com/boards/archi.../t-122065.html
