I converted a DVD to .avi (specifically, xvid) using the excellent tutorial for Gordian Knot.
Using a card writer, I transferred the .avi file to an SD, put the SD in my Axim X50v, and tried to play it with TCPMP .71.
At first, rather than play the file, I got an error message telling me that the player did not support the ac-3 codec.
After much research, I realized that I needed to add the ac-3 codec for the .71 player, which I did.
Again, I got the error message. After turning my X50v off and on a few times, I finally got the .avi to play, but without sound. When I play other, non ac-3 .avi's I created (originally from DTivo), the sound is fine.
I can find precious little information about ac-3 and TCPMP, and am unable to get any further along in solving this problem without help.
Might anyone have ideas on what mistake I've made?
Thanks in advance!
