Get around TCPMP and Network Buffering / Delay
Hi,
I was having problems with TCPMP buffering whenever I was playing a hit bitrate video or music through a windows share / samba wirelessly, but had no problem when I first copied it on the SD card. The player would play for a second or so, and then spend several seconds buffeirng.
I did the obvious thing of increasing the buffer size in the TCPMP options to some large size, like 12MB. This would help the problem a bit, but then it would spend quite a long time buffering whenever there is a underrun.
The problem is that the Axim (I have the x51v) has a slow wireless network card, and its made slower by the power saving. The way to get around this is run the Dell WLAN Utility, which should be in your Settings, and change the power save mode to "Auto" or "Disabled".
Now I can play everything without a single delay.
Hope this helps some of you.
