Why is it free ? What do they get out of it other than being a nice guy for sharing ? Are they using your files and data for themselves also ? Just curios as to how they can do this for free all the time or are they gonna start charging once they get enough people to use it ? There is another site called "putfile.com" that lets you upload your files and view other peoples stuff but I cant see how they operate for free unless they are getting something out of it.

They have partnering agreements with some companies. Anyway, Orb USED to be a pay service, THEN they decided to make it free. They have continually said that Orb will remain free.
If you have questions, just go over to Orb's site and read the forums. The mods and developers of Orb are always willing to answer questions concerning security, and why Orb is free.
I have been using Orb for quite some time, and am very pleased. The developers are always willing to help (provided you do as you should first, like read the FAQs, search forum posts, etc.)
