Real-time normalization.

is there a way of having my axim dynamically adjust the sound to a comfortable preset level?
for example if i have an a track that is mainly rock music it will be at 80dB.
and when a mp3 that is blues which would normally play at 60dB is played, the axim will adjust its volume a little higer to allow it to play at about 80dB.

of course this doesn't have to be confineed to mp3's it can apply to any sound outputted through the speaker (headphones).

i aw well aware of the normalize function of mp3's. i just dont want to spend time doing that.
is this possible or am i just dreaming?

I don't know of any application like you're talking about, but I do know that with some music players you can set the attenuation level for each file - a little tedious at the beginning when you have lots of files, but not much different from what iTunes offers.
