PocketMusic calls me a thief
Intrusive registration, no support and accusing your potential customer of being a thief is a unusual way of promoting a product.
I tried the PocketMusic demo a while back, but found Mortplayer better and free. I've read that Mort/GS players caching is less than ideal for x51/wm5 + a micro drive, so I decided to give PocketMusic another go. I want to continue to use Mort for podcasts and possibly use another player configured just for music off my 12GB Micro Drive. I installed the free version, registered it on their page, then got busy with life and paid no attention to it. About 3-4 days later I started it up and got a "the illegally registered copy has caused an error..." message and the program quit. There's no chance to re enter the registration code, it just quits. I tried un install and re install with no improvement. I tried their support, but true to their promise of no support for non paying users., I got no response. I cleaned out the registry of all pocketmusic entries and was able to install the demo again, but after a few days, there was the illegally registered error again.
With no support, no forum and a frustrating demo experience, there's no way I'm giving them $.01, but I'm curious. For those using this software, are these registration problems common? If you pay, do you get any support? Is the read ahead cache better for caching mp3's off a micro drive with WM5's memory (rom vs ram)?
