TCPMP Question

Afternoon all,

Any help with this would be appreciated

I have a Dell Axim51 which has the Windows Media player however i would like to download a player which plays all formats...Including mobile phone vidoes if possible.

I have heard that TCPMP is just the job for this however could anyone help with the instaltion bit.

I have found the website and from downloaded the file arm.cabs.0.71.zip.

Can any one advise if what i have done so far is correct and what i now need to do to get it onto the Axim.

Thanks all.

You should download the plugin files as well and for .3gp (cellphone) files you'll need the BetaPlayer AAC plugin from rarewares.

you need to use winzip or similar program to unzip the files then if you have a card reader look for the arm .cab file and load it onto a storage card then insert the card into axim and find the file with explorer and tap on it for it to install if you dont have a reader you can load it directly to your axim with the cradle and active sink which takes longer then tap on it when loaded to axim storage or card.

Quite correct - but this method will install TCPMP into Main Memory which is probably not where you want it, as it will use up your RAM.

It is better to transfer the .cab file (as Axzilla describes) to your Temp folder and then use cabinstall (a freeware utililty). You can then install the application wherever you like - BIS or a storage card. After installation you can then delete the .cab file in your temp folder (Unless cabinstall has done it for you of course).
