Does anyone know whether any of the Axim models work with WMP11 and Urge? These services are supposedly compatible with devices on the Windows PlaysForSure list, but it's not obvious whether they are compatible with any of the Axim models.

http://www.playsforsure.com/KeywordS...1&keyword=axim lists the X50 as being 'PlaysForSure compatible'. Does that mean the X51 and X51v are not compatible? I have an (admittedly old) X5; is that not 'PlaysForSure compatible'? I've been contemplating purchasing an X51; but I'd like to know that it is PlaysForSure compatible and will work with WMP11 and Urge.

Even more confusing, the Urge icon on the PlaysForSure home page (http://www.playsforsure.com/) lists the iRiver Clix 2GB and Creative Labs Zen Vision M--perhaps indicating that no other devices are compatible with Urge.

My Axim X50v works just fine with Yahoo! Music Unlimited, which uses the exact same PlaysForSure DRM as Urge. I've read in the forums here that the X51v works as well. You have a 14-day free trial, so you don't have anything to lose. Go for it :).

I wonder what it is about my X5 that prevents it from sync'ing with Urge. Is it because it has only WMP9? What version of WMP is on your X50?

If it's time for me to upgrade to an X51, I have to find a good deal!

The X50 and X51 series have Windows Media Player 10. I think PlaysForSure DRM requires that version, so you're probably out of luck with your X5 . For X51 deals, check out the Aximsite Hardware Deals Forum, PDA Offers, and of course Dell's own site. Wow, looks like they have some pretty good discounts now.

Thanks again, Alan. I guess the PlaysForSure site is perhaps getting some kind of incentive from promoting the iRiver Clix 2GB and Creative Labs Zen Vision M with Urge. It certainly makes the inexperienced user think that those are the only two devices that work with Urge!

I'm checking the deals now.

Any suggestions on a carrying case? I have (and love) the Piel Frama black-and-tan case for my X5.

I use WMP11 in combination with my Axim x51v. Works like it's supposed to :).
