WMP10 stops when playing .asx files?

Hi,

I am new with a Dell Axim x50v and wanted it to use a lot as a portable way to listen to internet connected radio stations. I have the WLAN and all set up and working with Normal to Good signal and can surf web pages fine. When I try to listen to an asx stream in WMP10 however, it loads and plays the first 1 second, then stops. It will not load again. The stream I am trying is this one.

http://www.streamx.com.au/radio/2ue/2ue-radio.asx

If anyone has some experience with this issue, I would really appreciate your help!

Thanks!

For your reference I solved this myself. I extracted the "mms://" address from the asx file and added the limiting "/*" to the end. It works great! Loads fine, plays fine!

Now to try and get RealOne player straming okay.... (any ideas??? :) )

I had a slightly different problem.

I have my mp3s on a Microsoft Media Services server.

With my x50v (2003SE) it streamed these fine (was mms:// type address)

When I upgraded to WM5 WMP has a problem, it finds the folder, begins buffering the file, then quits and says "Unknown Error"

The same behavior on my replacement unit (x51v)

I can't seem to get the mms protocol to work with TCMP either... anyone have any suggestions?

I tried adding the /* to the URL but that didn't help...

Thanks for the info folks! The WMP10 works great for all the stations in that format. The RealOne Player issue sounds a bit complicated... I understand it will not stream through my router with NAT, but could do it if a DMZ is set up... I don't quite understand what a DMZ is... But I'm happy with WMP10 working!

Psst! For Aussie radio networks on your Axim, try www.radio4pda.com
I'd be interested to know if 2UE works for you via that site.
