It would be nice to have a thumb-friendly UI, and they plan to skin when/after they reach v.1. For now, I have mapped buttons from within TCPMP. Personally, I would rather see the original UI plus thumbs, but not necessarily skins. Nothing that would consume system resources, like skins.
Strange, you would think "Betaplayer V.1" is an oxymoron. Doesn't V.1 mean it's out of beta?

I hope TCPMP gets a better UI so we can show those iPod people that PPC's can be cool too :P.

I like it the way it is now "free" and functional and like others have said full screen or screen off so who cares whats the body looks like its whats under the hood that counts lol.

Seems t me like tcpmp plays any thing I can possibly feed it. I don't think that there are any other ppc players that can handle ogm or mkv. The only problem is that there is little interface with the codecs. The gui is irrelevant. You never see it.

When I look for a MUSIC PLAYER I look for the ability to listen to music and control, not wether or not the play button looks cool or everything is sleek.

TCPMP is fine as it is. The only player I use. Function over eye candy any day.
