Interested in knowing where to find (or if I need to find) codecs for making avi files play on my Axim x51. Seems the sound was an AC3 codec and I could not find it. I only had a few minute to spare this morning so I haven't dug deeply into the internet for it yet, but is there a "codec pack" somewhere that adds additional codecs for the windows media player?
Also does anyone have a suggestion for alternative players that will work any better then WMP does?
I want to be able to rip a DVD down to my 1gig SD card, and then do the same process again and again so I always have a different movie with me.
So far I tried it as an avi and it did not work. I downloaded something to convert avi to mpg and that also did not work. I have no sound.
ive just bought DVD to Pocket software to compress dvds and convert them to pocket pc format. it took about an hour to convert it but it was less than 200mb for a 1.5 hour film. www.makayama.com/dvdtopocketpc.html
The built-in WMP will only play Windows media formats, so as jamiezerfahs has suggested, try TCPMP for other formats. Also, try FairUse for a free app that will convert DVDs to avi.
