I've got an other question myself - can we restrict what is shared, in CorePlayer, while we're online?

Can anyone confirm that CorePlayer will be able to play MP4s without any skips? I don't really want to look at a powerpoint slide show with audio. I know it must have been resolved I just need to read it.

I love TCPMP, its awesome. I am anxiously awaiting 10/16 with credit card in hand but I have not found any confirmation that the MP4 issue is resolved.

Haesslich.... Well... that aspect of the player will not be released till 1.4 or 1.5 and we are still defining it atm but you will have what we call the 'revolver' that will handle many of the aspect of 'Seek and Share'.... from the sync requests to permissions to sync.

I cant be too specific here as some parts are related to our patent filings.

If it isn't sharing my files initially, I don't care - although I will want to control what it shares when it is implemented I just want it to run, run well, and with h.264 and AAC. If it does, I'll plunk down money for it. ;)

It means they'd damned well better update their software, and make sure the latest versions of various server and forum stuff's in place.... else I'm going to be less inclined to trust them with my account info when CorePlayer shows up.

Oh Boy.. err.. oh BetaBoy.. :D

Now seriously... It really sucks to have problems with hackers. I know that only too well. I cross my fingers for your success! Get rid of 'em!

By the way, will BetaPlayer support subtitles? I don't want to search back in forum..

Yours sincerely,

I have one more question. You said that skinning would not be as robust in BetaPlayer, but if you made a skin for BetaPlayer, would it work in CorePlayer and vice versa?

The differences will be that our both our XML parser and skin system will not be as robust as it is in CorePlayer. But you will be able to write a skin for BP and have it work in CP.... but not with the added things like menus, options skinning, etc.

also... no CP to BP.... but we are leaning towards a tag to maybe have the author 'flag' compatibility for OS support as well as BP/CP support.

Will the 'Universal Skins' XML Parser be integrated into CorePlayer and if not, when will it be available for download?

The XML parser does just that 'parse' the x,y for images and other metadata needed to display the skin. So the parser itself will not be available as it is just a component within the CorePlayer Framework.

That being said we will post some example XML files for everyone to review till our HOWTO guide is ready..... we are actually looks for 1-2 ppl to help with the skin HOW-TO overview... so if anyone is interested I can provide them with the current XML examples as well as a skin GUIDE template I started.
