Can't play AVI formats?

I tried to play an AVI format movie trailer, it doenst go. It worked on the laptop..is there a way to get the mobile version of the Windoze Media player to use AVI formats??
Or must it be in WMA formats?

Make sure you have installed the codec for avi,eg.divx/xvid.

no need for plugins if you just want to use avi, but for other formats you might need the plugins/codecs...

or, if you're prepared to wait a month or so, then you might want to have a look at this:

www.coreplayer.com (commercial version, not released yet)
