Playing avi files

Can anyone suggest a player for WM5 that can play avi files, preferably free, or should media player 10 be able to play them?

TCPMP is the overall favourite! (And no, WMP does not play them.)

Moved to Multimedia.

to aximsite. remember search is your friend. There are plenty of great stickies under multimedia that will help you finding just the right player.

However, for the record TCPMP (aka Core aka betaplayer) is the one that I choose. It is open source and with plug-ins plays a multitude of files types, including music.

If you have specific questions, ask away. there are plenty of folks here that just love to help out.

Hi, I have a few questions. It seems that I can only play .mpg video files on it. Is there a way for me to play the other files (.avi, .mov, ...)? Also, whenever I play videos, I can only watch them in 100% view, whereas I would like to watch them in FIT BEST/FIT WIDTH view. When I switch to anything other than 100%, the video is extremely slow. Any help is appreciated.

And yes, I went to the following site -
HTML Code:
http://corecodec.org/frs/?group_id=53&release_id=225#r225
- and downloaded some plug-ins
