Reccomend any program that will resize AVI movie to X51v resolution?
Hi,
I have a copy of Fearless on AVI that is over a gig in size and resolution more suitable for desktop monitor. Can anyone recommend a program that would work like fairuse that will take the original AVI file and resize it to X51v screen dimentions and well as reduce file size? Freeware if possible.
Thanks,
Don

What is the resolution of the avi? This would help determine how to resize the AVI.

You want 640x480 for VGA, 320x240 QVGA(just for imfo purposes.)

checked the properties and the movie is 704x400 but the avi file is 1.38gb and rather reduce it to about 500 if possible. when i use fairuse 474mg movies look great.

I mostly use WinAVI for the job and I found that converting to 320x240 (QVGA) and play the video on my x51v the graphic is still pretty good. Not to mention the file size will be much smaller than having the file in VGA 640x480.

You could use VirtualDub to change the resolution to 640x363

it's not reducing file size but TCPMP can just resize the video to full screen or whatever aspect ratio u want......works well and saves me re-encoding :)

Dont forget Media Coder
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
This is the best freeware transcoder around, you can easily resize and adjust the bitrate.
