Ac3 file & bose headphones

I am considering buying a pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones. The new ones whatever they are called 3... anyway... When converting movies with fair use there is a comment on my instructions about using Ac3 for really good headphones. Can someone elaborate? I have an X50V. I was not able to find a download for this file. Thanks!
