Dell now pushing HP ipaq

If you got the latest Dell catelog for small business you might have noticed that there is no mention of the Axim. Instead they have 2 pages dedicated to selling HP's ipaq line of PDAs. Wow! That sure happened fast.

My Axim X51v is my most useful piece of technology. I use it many times every single day - and I hate to see Dell get out of this market. The Axim offered the most bang for the buck of any Windows Media based PDA

For me, my Axim has all my business database, all my MP3s, quite a few games, and (at present) 6 full-length movies that I can watch whenever I have some down time. I do a lot of email and web surfing on it - and even a lot of my Word documents (with a bluetooth keyboard). My case also serves as my wallet - so I'm never without it.

I suppose that I would consider a smartphone - but I have to tell you, I'm pretty the way things are right now. My wife & daughter both have ipods, but to me, those little gizmos seem way too limited.

I'm sure glad I got mine when I did.

Yes, these xims are great. I wish dell would keep developing them.

It would very interesting if Dell came out with an unlocked GSM phone/Pda that sold for their tiered prices of 299, 399, and 499. I'd probably be interested in one of those...

I got a catalog as well. Only HP iPaqs and no Axims.

Sounds like they might be doing some test marketing in some selected regions.

Well, since going with a Treo 700wx from Sprint, I really have no need for a pda anymore. I'll be selling my X50v pretty soon.

I don't mind change as long as I'm not around when it happens.
