How to rip and encode DVDs for use in QT and iTunes?

I have been doing some research, and have found out that iTunes and Quicktime use MPEG-4 with AAC 128 m/bit audio. I currently use a combination of DVD Decrypter and AGK that encodes into MPEG-3 with MP3 audio. Quicktime WILL NOT open this file. I can only assume that is because of the XviD encoding, but my question is: Can AGK encode WITHOUT XviD so it is just a raw MPEG-3 file, or did I miss something in the settings? If not, is there another program that has been tested and known to be able to work in iTunes?

Thanks in advance!
