.wmv file playback using TCPMP

The windows media files that I've loaded to do not play back with smooth video, the movie seems to pause every few seconds. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I'm using TCPMP 0.70 on an Axim X51v with the movie stored on a 150x 4gb sd card and the program in system memory.

TIA,

Richard

Not true I'm afraid. TCPMP supports both.wmv amd .wma files.

Pauses in the playback areprobably caised by a file encoded at too high a frame rate which will overload the processor. I always use 15 fps, but 20 fps should be OK.

Tell us where you got your .wmv files from and the frame rate (if you know it)

The latest version of TCPMP 0.71 so perhaps you can try that. Also, as davrol mentioned, framerate, etc. makes a big difference. Try running your processor at max.

Try running your processor at max, close other programs, and check the size of the video. If it is bigger than VGA, you may be wasting processor cycles resizing it. If you can get a VGA version (640 x 480 pixels), then get it.
If you're streaming, then increase your buffer size in TCPMP.
