x5 and new windows media 11

WMP11 says my device isn't compatiable and needs a firmware upgrade.
Anyone else have this problem or have found a backdoor around it??

Are you using PlaysForSure-enabled files, which require WM10?

just using mp3's and wma's.

It gives the error as soon as wm opens in XP and when connected with ACTSync 4.5b
Same error w/ AS 4.2

HMMMMM

Betcha it's your version of WMP or WM2003SE that it's objecting to, then. Not that I know much about the subject...

ditto transferring directly to storage card with reader - infinitely better than active sync. funny, too, that i got the same message for my 1st gen dell digital jukebox after "upgrading" to WMP 11 and Dell does not offer current drivers to make it work. simple solution - roll back to WMP 10 (it worked)!
The other day, I was going 95 on 75 in my 85 and saw GOD in my rear view mirror in the form of a Tennessee state trooper!
