Translation: Wait for 1.02, which is supposed to put the Options menu back in... which I miss myself. I just wish they'd put it in there before release, or at least delayed the release so I could have gotten it while it was a bit more feature complete.
Incidentally, AC3's going back in, as I thought it was:
4ever... can you tell me besides TCPMP what other mobile media player supports AC3? Aside from that... we will have an AC-3 option by 1.5 and are looking at including it by default for CorePlayer Mobile as well.... but this will be an 'option' in your Core Account so that the next time you download it compiled from the Core Account it has it included.
From what I recall, TCPMP 0.72rc1 and older versions already supported SRT files. Although I'd probably suggest posting the request for a plugin like this, or for 'third-party plugin support' on the forums or emailing CoreCodec about it.
Sorry but you recall wrong - with plugins made by NightKnight and Mabin it is possible to use "smi" subtitles - it has never been possible to show "srt" subtitles in TCPMP. Conversion from "srt" to "smi" is easy however with SubtitleTool.
I didn't see this thread before I purchased the CorePlayer. The options menu is available but where is the "buttons" screen? Is there another way to blank or shut off the screen as I mainly use TCMP to play mp3s? Every now and then I would use it to watch videos and I just tested it on some videos that would not play play properly using TCMP (something about quater-compression). They work fine so far in CorePlayer, but I am more intersted in the screen blanking.
What is the functionality of the BT in the player? I am currently using the Logitech BT Headsets for IPod and it works fine with TCMP. Haven't tested it with CorePlayer yet but does it serve any specific purpose?

Before the 1.02 update the menu options were disabled and you weren't able to select the Widcom AVCRP support. Now you are able to select that in 1.02. The buttons menu is still disabled and you won't be able to blank the screen.
I am still however very disappointed with this program. Betaplayer lost his credibility and it'll take a lot to get it back.
And as noted in OTHER posts, they're putting in the button menu again with the next release, as was announced on the CoreCodec forums.
Seriously, though - enough reviews have been posted that I'm sure that MOST people (who bother to read) have learned about CorePlayer's shortcomings by now - so if you bought it and are highly dissatisfied, you don't have anyone else to blame.
Personally, I think that we're now in the third stage.Oh yeah, here are the stages. First Part:"Core Codec: The Core Pocket Media Player" - everyone using trusty old TCPMP. Second part: "CoreCodec : The Two Players." - hey what? New player which was said to be totally cool! Gonna install it NOW... Bye TCPMP! Third part: "CoreCodec : The Return of the King" - hey, what? Is this the piece of s...oftware that I replaced my TCPMP with? Bye CorePlayer, welcome back TCPMP ol' buddy :). So that's where we are now. But it's not a trilogy I guess (I hope).... There is going to be a fourth and a fifth part. Something like:"CoreCodec : Prayer for the CorePlayer" and finally the fifth one: "CoreCodec : Awakeing of the sleeping beauty" That's my pentalogy called The Lord of the Players. I just hope that I'm gonna live by the time the fifth stage comes true...

And I guess that by the time they get their act together (and make corecodec work better than TCPMP) the new version will no longer be a free upgrade - so the money that we have spent on corecodec now is ......... wasted.
We'll see - I thought the point releases were free, or at least they aren't doing that licensing thing yet. So far, it's worked better for me for AAC files than TCPMP ever did, so I feel I've got my money's worth so far.
