I've been using FairUse to convert DVDs for watching through TCPMP on my X30h for a while and have been very pleased with the results. However, I recently upgraded to an X51v and haven't been as pleased. The picture quality is not nearly as good on my VGA screen as it was previously. I understand that my previously converted movies at 320x240 (or whatever it actually was) will degrade somewhat when stretched to a 640x480 VGA screen, but I tried converting a new movie yesterday (The Incredibles), and it looked awful. I ripped and converted the DVD to 640x480, using XviD, and the resulting picture was very pixelated and grainy. Should I simply increase my maximum file size to improve this, or is there a better way? Thanks for your input.

go to My Pda and look at my Fairuse Tutorial and you'll see how I like to do it. It really depends on how the movie is sized.

Just get autogordian knot and convert it.

Use tcpmp to play it back. Works fine for me. The beauty of it is that I can play it on on my pc at respectable resolution too ;)

you must increase your maximum file size for vga vs qvga vga uses 4 times more area than qvga qvga = quarter vga
