CorePlayer & Trusty o' TCPMP

Didn't think I would be installing back TCPMP when I bought CorePlayer. Just tried playing a video encoded with AC-3 audio format and found out that CorePlayer doesn't support AC-3 now and most possibly in the future too. I guess TCPMP would be my backup player when CorePlayer is not up to the job.

I suppose CorePlayer will be the best portable media player but right now, it still has some way to go. Don't get me wrong, I'm not critisizing it or anything. CorePlayer definitely has its strong points. It is able to play some video files so smoothly that TCPMP can't. I think the $20 I dished out for purchasing CorePlayer is extremely worth it considering it's like buying two programs for the price of one (TCPMP and CorePlayer).

CorePlayer has been officially released for slightly more than 3 weeks now. How's everyone getting along with it? Anyone running both programs on their Axim like me?

I'm curious what you couldn't play on TCPMP. I have been playing for about 6 months now and haven't run into a problem yet. So I just wondered. I haven't purchased CorePlayer yet but I probably will at some point!

I had a .m4v file and a .mov file tht didn't play smoothly. They're both video podcasts. It basically jerked like crazy but CorePlayer played it smooth as silk.

no problems with it here as my primary pla yer for video since i purchased it. Then agagain , I never saw the point of using CPU-i intensive encoding schemes with hardware that can't use it. At least AAC provides better compression for the size.

I wouldn't encode it in that format either normally but then I'm not the one encoding it. Some I got off my friends and some are just video podcasts online.

Once, in a while Coreplayer will not close correctly when you hit the 'X' and when you click on the icon it doesn't start or switch to the correct instance, requiring a softreboot.

Other than that its pretty nice.

I've never had that problem so far. I use HandySwitcher to close it though.

I usually end up transcoding anyways, so I s don't have this issue.
