VOB, AVI to DVD question

I was trying to see if I could get Dvd Decrypter solve the problem I am having with series dvds. I was only getting one episode. I used it to on a disc today that I know I only got the first show off using FairUse. I have the file on my computer... but it is a VOB... so I have 2 questions...
1) Does TCPMP play VOB files?
2) I use ConvertXtoDVD to put my AVI files back on dvd for roadtrips with my laptop. I couldn't get the probram to recognize the VOB files... am I doing something wrong? Is there a different program I need to convert back.
Thanks!!!

1/ TCPMP doesn't play VOB files (at least not very well)
2/ Don't know the answer to that one, but why not just keep the files in AVI (Divx/Xvid) for laptop playback. Windows Media on the PC with the proper codec can play pretty much any AVI's.

You could try using the SUPER Encoder. It encodes pretty much everything, and anything.

Windows Media can play AVIs?
I just usually burn a copy dvd for travel because I don't want to mess up my originals...plus when I am gone for several weeks I don't have enough storage cards to hold all the movies I want to take.

Yes, windows media on the pc/laptop can play avi (divx/xivid). You may need a codec pack as there are may flavors of divx/xvid. Just google if you need the codecs.

You can put 5+ movies in divx/xivid on a dvd, instead of one in vod.

Thanks Lorrborr for the info! I ended up and used dvdshrink then dvdconverter to switch it back over... but I will try your advise as well... I'm always looking to learn more way to stockpile my movie files to take with me!
