I'm just curious to hear your thoughts....also do certain mp3 programs allow you to turn off the screen to lessen battery consumption or do I have to get a seperate program for that?

PocketMVP, not, it doesn't let you turn off the screen, but it has lots of other cool stuff.

it's essentially winamp for pocketpc, I love it

GSPlayer is the best player in my opinion. It loads mp3 and ogg, and has a real interface, not something ripped from Winamp and shrunken for the pocket pc's screen.
