Windows Media Player will not recognize the Axim

I read some other posts with this problem but I saw no resolution for the problem. It just doesnt find it at all, i got to the site and look for the supported devices and Axim is not there though...

What to do? I read other people DO have it working... any ideas why it doesnt work here?

What version of Media Player do you have? It works fine with my axim and Media Player 9.

Do you have any cards in it? When I click on copy to CD or Device and select the drop down menu on the right I see the "Pocket PC name" the "Built in Storage" and both my cards on it. Do you get nothing? The icon for those things are a green square over what looks like a drive icon.

I think an active ActiveSync connection is required, but I'm not sure, I haven't tried via WiFi yet.

Here's a screenshot of what I have on WMP9:

:( no go, active sync on, active sync off, wifi, wireless... what should I look for?

How is the Axim supposed to show up on "My Computer"? It shows up as "Mobile Device" on mine... not as Axim... :(

In Windows Explorer (or My Computer if you prefer that) you should see Mobile Device. Open that and you should see another icon labeled My Pocket PC along with the contents of your main memory's My Documents. Open My Pocket PC to get into any folder on the device. (This is the same as clicking the Explore button in ActiveSync)

I've had the same problem as MentalV. Ever since I installed WMP9, when I choose Copy to Device the only thing listed in the drop down menu is my burner, no option for my axim. I haven't had this problem before upgrading to series 9. Perhaps I'll just have to rollback to the previous version until my windows mobile 2k3 arrives.

Is everyone synched continuoulsly? It's the only way to see PocketPC folder in the explorer. I just use the windows desktop explorer to copy and paste music into my Axim.

I'd suggest both of you do a fresh install of Media Player 9, I betcha that would fix the problem. Also Axim is not in the Device manager. Tha's just for permanent hardware.
