Dvds onto X51v

Hi,
I have just brought an X51v 624. i want to record some dvds onto the memory card. Can someone tell me the easiest and best way to do this?
I have tried using Pocket DVD Wizard (trial version) but the audio and video appears to be out of sync. any idea why?
thanks.

Try this tutorial from MobilitySite. It ROCKS!!! I was sooooo glad to read & use it. I have 4 dvds on a 2G SD card with room to spare. It's GREAT!

I also use Omniquiti Lathe, for my X51v, PSP, etc...it's nice & easy too.

FairUse Lite is free and very good, get an 8GB CF if you can afford it and record and transfer as much as you want, I use this and TCPMP to playback and the X51v does a very nice job.

Yeah, I looked at others, but many others kept on crashing my computer. In the end, I just went with FairUse Wizard. Very easy, straightforward, but slow.

I just leave it on overnight (Which I do anyway, since I run a server), and let it do its stuff.

Unfortunately, I can not use it easily anymore, since I am using (Have been for a while), Windows Vista, and it appears not to work with it.

Booting into XP is a pain, since its slowed down to a crawl, and takes over 10 min to boot up, no jokes.

I've been happy with the Pocket DVD Wizard. I don't why the audio and video are out of sync. It takes a couple of hours for the system to cook. I'm using a 4 gb sd card with 4 moives and have plenty of room.

I use Fairuse light. I usually rip them down to 350mb to view on my Axim, quality is fine for viewing on the Axim.

I started to rip to 700mb to put them on a DVD, so the kids can view the movies on their portable players.

I haven't noticed a difference 350 to 700 when viewing on the Axim. I bring the audio down to 96.

I use TCPMP(CorePlayer) to view.

the axims screen is small so you wont see any difference in picture quality once you have a decent enough bitrate for the axims display but the real difference is when you start watching the same video on a larger screen I encode my videos so they look good on big screens and also on my axim so I only have to have one copy that I can play on anything this is at 352x288 15fps divx with a bitrate that is between150Meg-180Meg/30 mins. This setup produces videos that are easy to stream wirelessly also and looks good on anything and at 15fps doesnt drain the axims battery quickly since the screen doesnt have to refresh at 30fps and easy on the processsor with tcpmp

Hey, im having a problem playing videos off my CF card. The Axim x51v just freezes when i try to play them, Is the speed of the card the problem. If so what card would you recomend for fast video watching.

more than likely your encoded bitrate is too high mostly any cf card is fast enough to view movies because they are all faster than your axim
