Coreplayer is the most stable in my situation

I tried Mediaplayer, GSplayer and Mortplayer. They all would lock up after a few weeks. I would have to restart or kill the app. I was only able to get through 100 songs tops of my 1000 song play list on my 8Mb CF card. I bought coreplayer and it is at song 942 and still going.

I operate them the same. The unit is mounted in my truck with a proclip. Plugged into power that is always there. I stop the player and put it in standby mode when I get to my destination (work, home etc.).

Not a scientific study, just thought I would post my results.

I don't use Coreplayer for music as it not very good at the moment in managing playlists etc...

I found that Pocket Player was the best for me as it works great with playlists and can do thinks such as play 1 hour of random music, 50 random tracks...

Never had any problems with stability.

I like Coreplayer for video (best by a long way), but for music it is too clunky at the moment. CP have been promissing an update to add functionality (they call it something like Core Techque) but this has been promissed since October and they have been quiet since then with no updates. Probably they are working on it!

Not to be a troll or anything, but I've found tha the best way to manage music on my Ax- is not use it an a music player. If you're connected to power it might be alright, but during the day I'm not and listening to music on my x50v kills the battery in just about an hour and a half. A cheap sa-1 player ($50 for a 1 gig model) will last the whole week on 1 AAA battery.

Hmmmm... I find that I get much longer than that. With pocket player, the screen switches off after 60 seconds and the battery seems to last for a good three hours as long as you don't keep switching the screen back on. Even watching videos on Coreplayer, I can watch a full length DVD (1.5 to 2 hours) easily. Of course I also carry a spare high capacity battery for when it does go flat.

I use GSPlayer with screen off, after two hours at the gym, I still have 70% battery left.

Weird, I use TCPMP and switch the screen off using one of the assignable keys and get at least a good 6 hours of playtime from it, usually there's still about 30-40% battery after that.

TCPMP may have pretty basic playlist functionality but it works well and I am waiting for someone to say whether Coreplayer has at least the same kind of basic playlisting as TCPMP. I don't care about prettiness and don't want useless rubbish like track time constantly updating or visualisations, I just want to give it a list of files, turn off the screen, and it play the files with as little fuss and as little cpu usage as possible.

Does Coreplayer work as well as TCPMP for that kind of thing? Anyone?

Except for the playlist scrollbars, Coreplayer is a little easier to use than TCPMP in terms of access speed.

10 hours of play time on my Coreplayer :).

I must admit, I found no music player to be as fast as the X50v in terms of accessing a single not-in-playlist song.

10 hours? I'm still on the original 1100mHa battery, so that may have something to do with it. While I don't intend on replacing it anytime soon, it's good to know that the Ax is capable of more.
