Question Can I disable voice recording/microphone?

I need to be able to disable the voice recording feature. Can I uninstall the recording software? Disable the microphone via software or hardware? Anyone know how to do this?

I work in areas where being able to record conversations would be frowned upon. (Like 25 to life...) I'm thinking about buying an Axim but *really* need to know how to disable the voice recording. TIA.

I also work in a high security environment. It's really hard to prove a device can't do something. If you go to Settings / Personal / Buttons, you can map the record button (on the side of the device) to some other function. But you can still record by going to notes, then pressing the record icon on the bottom of the screen. Even if you take the device apart and cut the microphone out, somebody could still acuse you. I suggest you talk to your supervisor or security officer. There's so many small devices that can record short conversations ... it's hard to believe you have to chop up your Ax.
The world may not be perfect yet, but the Axim is (almost).

Thanks for the info. The Dell support person told me about remapping the record button, but I doubt that will suffice. I'll check with the security filk, but I've found I get better results if I have a reasonable solution first. I am looking at PalmOS devices too and they will allow one witl built in Bluetooth as long as it has a disable check box. I was hoping for something similar in the PocketPC's.

Thanks again for your reply.
