Is there a way to connect the Axim through some sort of cable to mixer board or some other audio output device using RCA plugs or another connection?
My buddy has a mobile DJ business and has alot of files on MP3 and would prefer to have a mobile device to house a number of songs that he can work in radomly with his disks.

Forgive before I start...I'm gonna use all the wrong terms...but I used to plug a personal cd player into my old stereo using the head phone socket...depends what you mean by RCA ? But should be possible - you can plug in laptop / pc's why not the ax - be really cool!
i use my axim with a mixer and it works great... just a tip - use an mp3 player that has a preamp and set it to about -10dB... the music sounds better coming through the board that way
On the flip side, does anyone know of a way to record on the Axim from a source? I am not talking about with the Microphone but some sort of audio input adaptor? I guess it would need software too. I too have a mobile DJ biz and record the live sets on my laptop, and was curious if I could do the same on my axim.

Chris, what kind of cables are you using to connect. Are you taking the jeck from the headphones slot or are you using the serial port at the base of the axim?
How are you doing it currently?

I've run another PDA (not Axim) through a mixer board in the past. I connected it using the Monster Cable brand minijack to RCA cables. There are much better brand cables on the market, but working at Circuit City in the past I got the Monster's at a good price.

Thanks for the help everyone. Found a jack with rca cables and plugged it in. Work perfectly and my buddy/client is very happy. He now wishes to order multiple Axims from me as well as a slew of 1 Gig CF cards as well.

I wish there were enough margins in electronics to pay out commissions. Well maybe....hehe. But I do appreciate this site and those who contribute to it. I hope that my presence, input and goodwill towards the site, coupled with the fact that I put in a note on every Axim I sell to visit this site and register is repayment enough.

It is a digital audio recording interface with software for $199. I haven't read the whole thing, but presumably all you would need would be a microphone, a mic preamp, and a big ol' memory card or two (depending on how much time you'd need to record).
