Divx 5.0.5 question!!!!!

Last night I installed the new divx 5.0.5 after formatting my pc. I tried to convert a small movie using Virtual Dub and when I clicked on video compression and choose the Divx codec there was not much I could set up, I don't remember the screens in detail because it was 3.30 am but I do have some succesful experience in encoding movies using the former divx 5.3...

I tried to play the movie on Pocket MVP and it freezes up and the screen turns black.

Any suggestions on this... Any positive feedback on people who did use the new codec succesfully???

Second small question, are there any advantages in using the new codec over the former one????

I used Divx 5.0.5 last night with VirtualDub to encode a 25 minute video. It worked perfectly. I had previously used Windows Media Encoder and the .wma file was 48.5 meg. With VirtualDub and Divx the .avi file was 32 meg. The original .avi file was 2.2 GB.
